Lets Make you look great!

Natural, flattering photographs that you want to share, share, share.

In the studio, I’m always guiding people into poses that feel natural, flattering and confidence-boosting. With summer just around the corner and the selfies season looming, it's the perfect time to share a few of my favourite posing tips.

These are simple, subtle adjustments anyone can use, whether you're snapping a quick phone photo or stepping in front of a professional camera. With just a little awareness of angles, posture and expression, you can instantly elevate how you look in photos.

My Top 7 Posing tips and Techniques

Designed to make you look great in your photos.

In the studio, people often ask for posing tips. So to kick off the summer selfie season, I'll share my top seven tips to look great in photos.

1 - The twist (women)

When asked to pose, many people stand directly facing the camera. This makes the image flat and hides their figure. Instead, stand with your feet at a 45-degree angle and twist towards the camera. This will accentuate your curves and slim your waist.

2- The lean (men)

Men, I suggest a 45-degree angle. But, don't twist at the waist. Instead, turn your head towards the camera. Then, lean slightly forward, supporting your weight on the front foot. This action lifts your chin, creating a sharp jawline.

3 - Shoulders (men and women)

Lower the shoulder facing the camera slightly. This will form a diagonal line. It will guide the viewer's gaze into the image.

4 - The hands (women).

Place your hand lightly on your hip or hook your thumb on the pocket. Raise your biceps slightly to make them look smaller. Pull your shoulders back to open your chest. Keep your elbow within 3 inches from your body. Avoid posing like a teacup, that's for the preschoolers!

5 - Men

Stand with one hand in a pocket. Or, place it in a jacket pocket. The back hand should hang flat. This keeps your shoulders aligned. When crossing your arms, make fists. It makes your biceps look bigger.

6 - Ears (everybody)

Turn your head to show both ears in the picture. This creates a symmetrical face. More appealing and beautiful to the viewer.

7 - Eyes (women)

Larger eyes are seen as more attractive and trustworthy. To make your eyes appear bigger, just look up at the camera or lower your chin slightly.

Bonus tips!

Children: To photograph children easily, have them lie on their tummies. This lifts their chin and frames their face with their hands. Just focus on their eyes and get a winning smile.

Families: The faces are the main focus in the picture. Try to bring the heads closer. Lift the shorter ones, or ask adults to lower to their level.
