You are looking for a professional portrait photographer, but where do you start? There are thousands of us with the eye and equipment to take your image.

Capturing your Personality in Portraiture

If you’ve decided to arrange a personal or family portrait, you have a reason in mind. Whether for an important occasion, to record a moment in time or as a pivotal point in your career, you know what you want to capture. As a specialist portrait and family event photographer, I make it my mission to understand your intentions and make sure I deliver.

Some photography studios feel like a production line, with a fixed repertoire of studio setups, poses and time limitations, but not with me. I want to create images that are genuine to you, so a big part of the photoshoot experience is listening, observing and capturing your personality.

Where do you Want to be Photographed?

The first option is finding a setting that puts you at ease. Your portrait photography session can take place in my studio, with your choice of background. Alternatively, I love seasonal shots in The Chilterns, or heading out to a place with significance to you. Portable equipment means woodland, lakeside or urban images are no problem, just like in these portraits.

What to Wear in your Photoshoot?

Sunday best isn’t what everyone feels comfortable in. If it isn’t your usual attire, you will be tense and stiff, which will reflect in the final images. I recommend wearing an outfit that makes you feel fabulous and is true to your personality. You might bring a choice of outfits, so we can try some different styles.

I do advise against highly patterned or reflective fabrics, as these distract the eye from the real focus of the image; your face. For group photography, I’d advise discussing outfits with others. They don’t need to all be matching, however, avoiding strong contrasts in colours or styles creates harmony in the portraits.

Trust in an Experienced Portrait Photographe

I bring over two decades of portrait photography experience to each photoshoot. I am industry trained and you can trust me to bring out the best of your natural features. The eyes only come to life when a smile is relaxed and heartfelt. Any retouching is kept to a minimum, so the images reflect the real you.

My commitment to my trade means that I see the process through from start to finish. The initial contact, photoshoot and editing will all be me; no hired studio, assistant photographer or outsourced retouching service in my packages! This personal collaboration provides a consistent quality to my work. I believe it is the only way to create a meaningful portfolio of images that will evoke your special memories for years to come.

As part of the photoshoot fee, you receive all the images that I have taken, in a digital format. If you decide to order prints, my high-resolution printer provides accurate colour representation for a quality finish on photographic paper or canvas. So, if you are seeking a Buckinghamshire photographer specialising in portraiture, my experience, personalisation and commitment to quality stand me apart.
